Overview
The Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR) Workshop is designed to promote participants’ awareness of their attitudes, values, feelings, and beliefs about the wide range of human sexual experience and to assist them in gaining insight into how these attitudes, values, feelings, and beliefs affect them professionally and personally. The SAR uses a combination of large-group, brief didactic, presentations, individual and small-group activities. The large group presentations frequently utilize sexually explicit media to elicit reactions in participants, followed by small group discussions to promote exploration of these reactions.

The SAR will be held at a retreat setting. Participants are expected to stay on site Tuesday night, March 9th.

Topics
§ Discuss a holistic model for understanding human sexuality.

§ Identify areas of personal comfort and/or discomfort regarding sexual behavior and where that comfort and/or discomfort originates.

§ Identify and articulate personal attitudes, values, feelings, and beliefs about a variety of sexual behaviors, relationships, and fantasies.

§ Describe primary “values-filters” and how those “filters” inform the participant’s attitudes, values, feelings, and beliefs about sexuality/sexual behaviors.

§ Develop a greater understanding of the sexual attitudes and values of people whose sexual interests, activities, experience, and physical abilities are different from one’s own.

§ Identify biases that have the potential of interfering with one’s professional work.

§ Discuss sexual matters with an increased level of comfort.
