In collaboration with Dionne (Choc Trei) Henderson of the Leather Archives, researchers are conducting an ongoing study on perceptions of gender inclusivity within the BDSM/Kink/Leather communities. The survey is open to everyone who is over the age of 18 and who has attended at least one BDSM/Kink/Leather community event such as a conference, educational class, munch, play party, meeting, etc. This survey takes about 20 minutes.

This is a continuation of a study that began in Fall, 2020. Everyone’s participation is welcome, but please do not take the study, if you have already participated.

Researchers are especially seeking the perspectives of individuals whose primary association is with the women’s community or the men’s community, as we want to ensure that we have good representation from a diverse set of communities. If you choose to participate in this study, your responses will be anonymous. Participation in this study is voluntary. You may withdraw from the study at any time without penalty.

If you have any questions, please contact Brad Sagarin at bsagarin@niu.edu.

At the end of the survey, there is an opportunity to provide your name and address to receive a Science of BDSM Research Team 2021 participation pin. Because participation opportunities were so limited in 2020, you may request a 2020 pin in addition, if you didn’t have a chance to participate last year. The name and address are collected separately from your survey data to ensure that your survey data remain completely anonymous. If you would like to participate, please follow this link: https://niu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eFDsp3GzcADN7x4
