We are asking you to participate in a survey that is part of an exciting new initiative: the development of clinical practice guidelines for working with BDSM involved or kink-identified clients and patients.  We are asking for your help and feedback in the development of these clinical practice guidelines.

A core value of this project is to use a community-based research model. Community-based research involves a partnership between professionals and the community being served. In this model, community members help in creating the questions that drive the project, provide feedback on the interpretation of results, and guide the dissemination and impact of the project. A community-based research model will aim to improve the quality of the findings and ensure that impact on the community doesn’t result in harm.  While this survey is not a research project, it is guided by these principles.

The survey has three parts:  (a) information to help us maintain contact with you as the guidelines project unfolds; (b) initial thoughts on what clinical practice guidelines for working with kink-involved people should include; (c) next steps in reach out: referrals to clinicians, practitioners, community organizations; possible meetings or conferences where we can present the project

The survey results are a needs assessment and will only be used to improve the guidelines and to help us engage stakeholders.  Results will not be published or presented.
