from the Center for Positive Sexuality…

Last month a couple of us participated in Dr. Patti Britton and Dr. Robert Dunlap’s Sexual Attitude Reassessment and Restructuring (SAR) training in Culver City. If you haven’t attended a SAR but you work as a sex educator, sex therapist, or sex researcher, you absolutely must have this experience. The next one is being held in Reno, April 12-14, 2013. Sign up now!

We have a reached a new high! I received an email from a Charter School in Texas thanking the Center for its Sexuality Resources and helping students learn more about sexuality, STDs, and other related topics. You have no idea how happy this makes me.

In April I will be co-presenting at the National Organization of Forensic Social Work Conference on “Reducing Sexual Crime and Empowering Victims: Applying a “Sex Positive” Framework in Forensic Social Work” in conjunction with some colleagues at Idaho State University. This is a culmination of co-authored work between the Center for Positive Sexuality and Idaho State University. More research between us is in the works and we look forward to a long and bountiful collaboration.

Are you looking for special Valentine’s Day advice? My recommendation is to make every day with your partner(s) special. The calendar shouldn’t dictate special dinners and outings or new sexual exploration. Enjoy who you are with and celebrate your relationships frequently.
