Center for Positive Sexuality to Present on ‘BDSM as Leisure’ at 2017 CARAS Conference

We are pleased to announce that there will be a strong presence by Center for Positive Sexuality at the upcoming 2017 CARAS Alternative Sexualities Conference in Chicago. The theme of this year’s conference is Cultural Shifts: Media, Identity, Diversity and Alternative Sexualities.

Executive Director Emily Prior and Director of Research DJ Williams will be joined in a panel presentation by fellow researchers Thea Alvarado, Jeremy Thomas, and Candace Christensen to discuss whether BDSM is a leisure activity. The original study was published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine in 2016. This is based on past and ongoing research published in the Journal of Positive Sexuality, as well as other academic publications.

This is CARAS’ 8th conference in 10 years.

Be sure to say hello if you are also attending!
