The Center for Positive Sexuality was founded in 2007 as a not-for-profit educational organization by Emily Prior and a core group of educators who share the belief that sex education of all sorts should be easily available, friendly, and accurate.
The Center for Positive Sexuality was developed with the idea that people not only need to be educated about sex and sexuality, but that everyone needs to be able to see these topics portrayed from a positive, healthy perspective. Sex and sexuality are normal, natural parts of being human and should be explored as a part of everyone’s development. To this end, we have created a series of interactive presentations suitable for college and university students, as well as other groups and organizations. We are also developing workshops and seminars for individuals, couples, groups, and organizations as well as a private consultation service for individuals, couples, and small groups.
If you would like to know more about the individual educators, please go to the Meet the Presenters page.
The Center for Positive Sexuality is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and has given presentations and delivered papers at various conferences and conventions across the U.S.
Currently, we present on the topics of Polyamory and NonMonogamy, BDSM: Fact & Fiction, Gender Variance, Sexual Diversity, and Sex & Disabilities for colleges, universities, and other groups. Future endeavors include presentations on Finding the Right Partner, Role Play for Couples, and more.
This project is funded personally by the educators as well as through donations. If you would like to contribute to the furthering of sex-positive information and education, please send us an email.
